Account Types

FXTM gives traders three live account choices. You can pick accounts in different currencies, which helps you save on conversion fees. Pick the one that fits your needs and how you trade. Here are the options:

Advantage Plus Account

Advantage Plus is the third live trading account option at FXTM. The account offers the same features as the Advantage account option but with zero commissions. However, to compensate for the zero commissions offered by the Advantage Plus account option, the account has wider (mark-up) spreads that start from 1.5 pips. The account offers market execution and access to multiple financial assets, including stocks on the MT5 trading platform. The minimum deposit required to start trading is $200.

Advantage Account

The Advantage account is the most popular live trading account option at FXTM. It has a minimum deposit requirement of $200 and allows traders to trade on market execution, which means that their orders are channeled to the interbank market and executed at market price. Interestingly, the Advantage account is available for those using the MT4 and MT5 trading platforms. A commission fee of $3.50 per lot traded on each side is charged on the Advantage account. The account offers tight spreads from 0.0 pips.

Advantage Stocks

While FXTM offers access to multiple trading markets through CFDs, those who wish to trade stocks can open an Advantafe Stocks account with the broker. This options facilitates trading popular US and other stocks, with zero commissions and very tight spreads offering a low-cost trading. To activate the Advantage Stocks account, traders must deposit at least $200. Thanks to market execution, members of FXTM will receive the best market price instantly. Advantage Stocks is available to MT5 users and the minimum contract size for trading stocks is set at 0.01 lots.

Trading Fees and Other Costs

Before picking a broker, traders should always check out their trading fees and costs. FXTM, which is both a CFD and forex broker, has two kinds of these fees:

Let us take a quick look at the trading fees that are available at FXTM.

Spreads

The cost is incorporated into the price of what you trade. A wider bid-ask spread means higher costs.

A flat fee paid per position is often used as an alternative to charging via the spread.

Spreads

FXTM offers the following spreads across all its account types:

Okay, so it looks like FXTM’s Advantage Plus Account adds 2 pips to the usual spread on EUR/USD to pay for trading.

Now, let’s see how much it costs to trade with both account types. We’ll look at a 1 Lot trade on EUR/USD (where 1 pip change is $10) and pretend we buy and sell at the same price. Using the average spreads, here’s what trading will probably cost for each account:

Advantage Account

Advantage Plus Account

The comparison above shows the Advantage account has much lower trading costs because of its tight spreads and good commission fees. Now, let’s compare the average spreads for the three most-traded Forex pairs between FXTM Advantage Plus and what other big brokers offer.

Okay, so the FXTM MT4 account spreads? They’re a bit wider than what you’d see from bigger players like IC Markets, IG Markets, and Fusion Markets.

Commissions

With FXTM, you don’t pay any commissions on the Advantage Plus account. But, the Advantage account has a commission of $3.50 for each lot on each side (that’s $7 total for a round trip). So, keep in mind that the Advantage account:

The Advantage Plus account has a $7.0 commission for trading 1 lot, which is decent compared to what other similar companies charge. Of course, some brokers do have cheaper fees. For example, Fusion Markets’ Zero Spread Account costs $4.50 per round turn, and that’s seen as one of the best deals out there now.

Spreads & Commissions

4/5

Financing Charges

When you hold a position overnight, you’ll either get charged or receive rollover interest (called a swap). FXTM’s partners figure out these daily swap rates using their risk analysis. Each currency pair has its own swap charge. You get interest on currency you sell, and you pay interest on currency you buy.

You can see the swap charges for a currency position by logging into your MT4 platform and taking the following steps:

Go to your product in the ‘Market Watch’ window. Then, right-click and select ‘Symbols.’

Click on the product you wish to view from the list and select ‘Specifications’.

Here, you can view the Forex swap rates for long and short positions.

Deposit fees

Just so you know, FXTM doesn’t charge deposit fees, which is pretty common with online brokers these days.

Withdrawal fees

FXTM doesn’t charge withdrawal fees, no matter how you get your money. But, if your bank uses another bank overseas to process the payment, they might charge a fee. This fee isn’t from FXTM.

Inactivity fees

The broker charges a fee of $10 monthly after three consecutive months of no activity.

Inactivity Fees

3/5

Overall on Fees

FXTM’s trading costs are kind of a mixed bag. The spreads on their Advantage Plus Account are really high compared to other brokers. On the other hand, the commission on the regular Advantage account is pretty fair. Plus, they charge inactivity fees, even though they don’t have extra fees besides the usual overnight financing.

Overall, FXTM deserves a good pass mark on fees: their commission fee of $7 per round turn compares well to its industry competitors.

Desktop Trading Platforms

FXTM provides traders with various advanced trading platforms, including the MT4, MT5, and a proprietary trading platform.

MetaTrader 4

This broker lets traders use MetaTrader 4 (MT4), a straightforward platform from MetaQuotes Software. If you trade on MT4 with them, you can get into different markets and lots of financial instruments such as Forex, commodities, CFDs, and indices. MT4 is a free download, and it has all the stuff you need to check out the markets and handle your trades. MT4 has clear, interactive charts so you can keep an eye on the markets as they move. You also get over 30 technical indicators that can show you market trends and good spots to buy or sell.

Other benefits of MT4 include its powerful security system and multi-device functionality, which enable you to trade with complete confidence and at your convenience. FXTM offers Multi Account Manager (MAM) on MT4 for easy management and ultimate convenience for traders with multiple accounts. The broker makes the MT4 trading platform available in desktop, web, and mobile versions.

MetaTrader 5

The broker also gives traders the MT5 platform. It’s a newer, more powerful platform from the makers of MT4. MT5 lets you trade more than just forex; you can also trade stocks and futures. MT5 comes with tools for both basic and in-depth market study. You can copy trades from others or use automated trading robots. It’s got everything you need to trade any market easily. Plus, it has more chart styles and timeframes than MT4, with 44 graphics, nine chart types, 21 timeframes, a built-in economic calendar, and even an email system.

MT5 has some cool perks, like a strategy tester that handles multiple tasks, easy fund transfers between accounts, and alerts that keep you updated on the market. You can also chat with other traders in the MQL5 community, which is pretty cool. You can grab the MT5 platform for free on Windows and Mac, or use the WebTrader version. Plus, there’s a mobile app for both Android and iOS you can get from their app stores.

FXTM Trader

FXTM Trader is their own trading thing. The FXTM team built it so you can easily trade over 20 things. It’s an app for phones (Android and iPhones). You can trade whenever, wherever. It’s got cool stuff like trading on different devices, easy orders, a quick-trade button, a dashboard, live prices, and charts.

Copy-trading with FXTM

FXTM Invest is a cool way to get into trading, even if you’re not a tech whiz. Basically, you pick FXTM traders – we call them Strategy Managers – and copy their moves since they share their trading strategies. The nice thing about copy-trading with FXTM Invest is that you’re still in charge of your funds. You only pay your Strategy Manager a fee when they score a winning trade. It’s pretty straightforward; here’s how it works:

Select a trader who best matches your goals by using the tools provided by FXTM Invest to filter the available traders.

Decide your investment amount and how you will share it among different managers. Be balanced and don’t put all your eggs in one basket, so choose how much to allocate to each chosen trader if you have selected more than one person to copy.

The copy trading platform will automatically replicate all the selected trader’s positions in your trading account.

Add more funds if you like how the trader is performing. Or, reduce your exposure to one trader and keep your portfolio diversified by not investing too much in a single trader. You can replace your existing ones at any time; just keep in mind that you will need a separate Invest account for each trader you decide to follow.

There are no special fees to use the copy trading function, apart from the ones you pay the Strategy Manager whenever they profit. However, note that any brokerage fees that would apply to a normal trade will be applied to copy trades.

Desktop Platforms

4.5/5

Mobile Trading Platforms

FXTM knows mobile trading apps are a big deal for traders. That’s why they offer mobile versions of all their platforms: MT4, MT5, and FXTM Trader.

The mobile versions of MT4 and MT5 let you watch the market when you’re out. You can trade different assets from your phone. They have tools like indicators and signals. You don’t miss out by using the mobile versions because they have the same features as the desktop ones.

The FXTM Trader app works on Android and iOS. It makes trading easier because you can get to your account and trade anywhere you have internet. Some features include:

Open, close, and modify positions on all 650+ forex and CFD instruments on both live and demo accounts

Live currency rates 24/5

Let us now take a closer look at the product list.

Forex

At FXTM, you can trade almost any type of currency pair all day, every day. The forex market is known for its high trading volume, with about $7.1 trillion changing hands each day.

FXTM customers can trade over 60 currency pairs on platforms like MT4, MT5, and the FXTM app. When you trade forex at FXTM, spreads can be super tight. They start at 0.0 pips on the Advantage account, but keep in mind they can change based on your account type. FXTM also provides flexible leverage that can reach 1:2000 or even 1:3000 sometimes, depending on when you trade and what the market’s like. The size of your trades also affects how much leverage you can use. If you’re trading over $100,000, they’ll reduce how much leverage you can get. If you trade forex with Exinity Capital East Africa Ltd (which is regulated by the CMA), the highest leverage you can get is 1:400. For those in the UK, it’s capped at 1:30 for major currency pairs and 1:20 for minor ones.

Metals

FXTM lets you trade metals online and has good trading deals. Like, if you trade gold versus the dollar on their Advantage account—which is a popular option—you get pretty low spreads. If you’re not a CMA or FCA trader, this gold dealer lets you use leverage up to 1:3000. Just so you know, this changes. It goes down when your trades go over $100,000. CMA traders get a max of 1:400 leverage for metals. Retail traders in the UK can’t get more than 1:20 leverage on gold and 1:10 on silver.

Stocks

FXTM lets you trade stocks from big exchanges like the NASDAQ, NYSE, and HKEX. You can trade stocks on the MT5 platform as CFDs or directly without leverage. For regular stock trading, open an Advantage Stocks account for low spreads and no commissions. You can even trade parts of shares, like 0.3 of an Apple share. Note that share trading, even as CFDs, isn’t available to UK traders with FXTM’s FCA-regulated side.

Commodities

At FXTM, you can invest in different commodities from major natural gas markets. Trade WTI Crude Oil, Brent Crude Oil, or Natural Gas and guess price changes using CFDs. If you trade commodity CFDs with FXTM, you might get leverage as high as 1:500 on some energy stuff. This changes, dropping as your trading goes up to keep risks low. The CMA-controlled part has a 1:400 limit, and the FCA-controlled part limits energy commodity leverage to 1:10. FXTM also lets tradersทั่วโลก trade CFDs on soft stuff like coffee, corn, and cocoa.

Indices

FXTM lets you trade over twelve global indices as CFDs on MT4, MT5, and their own platform. You can access stock markets in the US, UK, Japan, and more by betting on price changes of big indices like the S&P 500, FTSE 100, and Nikkei 225. Leverage is there for CFD index traders, but it depends on where you live. Global clients can get up to 1:1000 on major indices, but only for trades up to $100,000. For CMA clients, the limit is 1:400. If you’re trading with the UK side of the business, it’s even lower, maxing out at 1:5. But, that UK group offers leverage up to 1:30 for trading the US Dollar Index with FXTM.

ETFs

Depending on where you signed up with FXTM, you might diversify your investments by trading CFDs on ETFs. This way, you can get into markets such as stocks, commodities, metals, growing markets, and tech. You can trade ETFs on MT5 and the FXTM app. ETF traders can also use leverage to open bigger positions, up to 1:10.

Cryptocurrencies

If you’re an FXTM client outside the UK, you can now trade crypto using CFDs. FXTM lets you bet on the price of over 20 popular and up-and-coming cryptos without needing to own them. You can find crypto on MT4, MT5, and the FXTM app. If you have an Advantage account, you’ll get super tight spreads. There’s also leverage for crypto trading: up to 1:1000 for Bitcoin and 1:100 for other cryptos. Just so you know, these leverage amounts can change if your crypto trades go over $5,000.

Futures CFDS

FXTM lets you trade futures CFDs on popular global indexes and energy stuff. Basically, you’re guessing which way the price will go without actually holding anything. They’ve got stuff like GER40, Nasdaq100, S&P 500, you know, the usual suspects. You can trade on MetaTrader 5, and they have decent spreads and you can adjust your leverage. Futures CFDs at FXTM are cool whether you’re doing quick trades or want to get in on the bigger market trends. Plus, they don’t expire, so you can just keep trading.

Trade Execution

FXTM uses a mix of trade methods. Both their Advantage and Advantage Plus accounts use market orders. So, you always get the best price available right away. Just remember, the price when your order goes through might be a bit different from what you saw when you clicked. Still, market orders mean fast processing with no delays.

With super-fast execution and cool tech made just for great trading, FXTM’s trade execution is among the best. They get their prices and send orders to big banks, major exchanges, and financial companies.

At FXTM, transparency in trade execution is not considered an advantage or a promise but a standard because it commits to facts and deliverables. FXTM trade execution is not just promises but facts and numbers. The records of the broker’s trade execution performance statistics are shown below:

They don’t charge you to deposit money, and you can use these currencies: AUD, USD, EUR, GBP, NZD, SGD, JPY, and CAD. You can set up your FXTM trading account in USD, GBP, EUR, or NGN. The currencies available might be different depending on where you live. Just so you know, if you deposit money in a currency that’s not the same as your account’s currency, you might have to pay a conversion fee.

The account funding involves the following simple steps:

Open the Deposits page within the My Money section in MyFXTM.

Choose your preferred deposit method and click ‘Deposit.

Select the MyFXTM account or wallet you wish to deposit funds into and complete the necessary fields.

Like this:

First deposit – $600 – Credit Card *3989

The back office should process withdrawals in a day. How long it takes to hit your account depends on the payment method.

FXTM doesn’t charge any fees for putting money in or taking it out. But, banks might charge their own fees when transferring money, and FXTM has no control over that. Also, because of money-laundering laws, FXTM can only send your withdrawn cash to a bank account that has your name on it—the same name as your FXTM trading account.
